The UP Library Science Alumni Association (UPLSAA) cordially invites you to Caring for your Library Collections: a Seminar-Workshop on Handling and Protecting Library Materials on 10 November 2008 (Monday), 9am-4pm at the School of Library and Information Studies, Gonzalez Hall, UP Diliman.

This seminar-workshop aims to:
● Introduce basic methods in handling and protecting library materials, specifically books, documents and photographs
● Discuss common causes of deterioration and the types of damages to these library materials
● Present basic housekeeping procedures to lengthen the life of the collection

Registration fee (inclusive of morning and afternoon snacks, materials for the workshop and certificates) is P1,000.00 for non-UPLSAA members and P900.00 for UPLSAA members. Slots are limited; reservations are necessary. All reservations will be on a first come, first served basis.

Kulam is okay. (note, some very minor spoilers)

1. Chant was "Ero Ero Azero" which reminds me so much of wiccan "Eko Eko Azarak" which incidentally was also the title of a Japanese live action film.
2. The twins Mira and Maria remind me of Maharet and Mekare of Queen of the Damned... Both misunderstood by society because of practices they were brought up around, one twin going insane... some subtle similarities only.
3. Much respect to Jun Lana, direction and story.

Saw this on Solar Sports. The URCC University Challenge. The 3 main events were all Ateneo vs. La Salle. It was a shutout, 3-0, in favor of Ateneo.

Ronnie Ticao of Ateneo d. Doi Rodriguez of DLSU, pinweight. Via kimura elbow lock after mounts and raining punches.

Ryan Philip Marquez of Ateneo d. Nico Presbitero of DLSU, flyweight. Via rear naked choke after rubber guard gogoplatas and full mounts.

Mikhail Ignacio of Ateneo d. Paolo Gomez of DLSU, bantamweight. Via kimura elbow lock. After knees, mount and raining strikes.

It's Ateneo's year.

Tomato Kick

Didn't get to taste any of the tomato dishes. Dan, Jean, Ivy, Von, Jen, Marj, Thel, Mennie, Efren, Friend, Me and Marian. Nahirapan daw sila sa klase ni Mam Iyra atsaka sa basketball practice kaya natuloy sa Tomato Kick. Also saw Bookay-Ukay (http://bookay.multiply.com).

Coffee Song After Sunset

Ce sat in a cozy little nook inside a coffee shop she didn’t frequent. Coffee was okay, the place was bearable. Nothing extraordinary about the place. Nothing extraordinary about today. Today she will be meeting with Dan.They had worked together on the same album before,
but for this one they were working on the same songs.

She glanced at her watch. It was 5 minutes before the allotted time they were to meet.

“Hello,” she heard a voice say right before she put her wrist down, “Sorry I’m late.”

“Actually you’re just right on time,” she said, “Getting a cup of java?”

“Yeah, they’ll be calling my name soon,” he said, plunking himself down on the cushioned seat across her. The nook was a bit dim, but the afternoon sun, cast a glow that made the place quite cozy.
