New Acquisitions

Got some second-hand books from Books for Less, SM Centerpoint, Manila. An old Winn L. Rosch Hardware Bible, The World Treasury of Science Fiction, A History of the Vikings, Celtic Myth and Legend, Foundation and Earth: Book 5 of the Foundation Series, The Get Fuzzy Experience (think of it as a more violent Garfield and an Odie who talks too), and CrossGen Edge Vol 1.

I hope to be able to get some reading time in before the 2nd sem fireworks start.

Todos los Santi

This is my Typhoon Santi experience. I didn't know it would be this hard.

Support typhoon relief efforts. Especially for those who really need it.

Halloween Wall

Kung Fu Panda Po now has friends... There's a Giant Pumpkin, a Scarecrow Pumpkin and a Hello Kitty Halloween Witch. I wanted to erase the Panda but my sister said my inaanaks might cry (Gio in particular). I wanted to make a Transformers Bumblebee mural, their new idol so it seems, but that would take a long time. With the halloween party just a few hours away, I did this.... Took me an hour (1 sec = 1min in the vid). The Kitty's for my new inaanak Iana. (Clue, divide cat head into 5, eyes go on 2 and 4, nose on 3.)

Happy Bongos

I was groggy when my nephew Enzo greeted me this morning as I came out of my room. "Tito Ninong," he said in a meek voice, "I'm sorry I drew on your drums." I thought it was nothing so I sent him off with an "It's okay." I mean, I disposed of my drum set YEARS back. And the only percussions in the house were my cajon and his little toy drum set. I assumed he drew on his little toy drums.

Mid-morning, my mom was asking me about my drums.
"What drums?" I asked.
"The drums that Enzo drew on," she said.
"But I don't have drums any more."
"Yes you do," my mom corrected me. "Check your bongos."

MY BONGOS!!! I completely forgot about them!!! Anyway, look at the pics. If I ever do percussions onstage again the audience will be treated to two child-drawn smiley faces between my knees.

I was too amused to get angry anymore. Hehehe.

The Sumatra Woman's Brew - Storytelling for Healing and Learning

http://thecoffeegoddess.multiply.com/journal/item/610/Storytelling_for_Healing_and_Learning
Zarah Gagatiga's Storytelling Workshop. :D

A week later...

Wala lang.I had driver duty today. While waiting, I went to SM City Sta. Mesa. The place still stunk from the flooding it suffered from Ondoy. I think that's Pasig River behind SM City Sta. Mesa, it probably overflowed. The whole basement, which housed the supermarket, is now closed. Amoy estero, and you can smell the wafting odor till the 4th floor. From the escalators you could sneak a peek down the basement and see the mud.

Anyway, I had time to spare before picking up my mom and took this picture from the 4th floor parking space. It's the community beside SM, I assume they were flooded too. I love it because you can see what people are doing a week after Ondoy.

From the top:
  1. Trying to start a flooded car.
  2. Cleaning the car interiors, seats, carpets, etc.
  3. Garbage pick up time...
  4. (Second floor terrace) Drying books and important papers.
  5. (First floor of that house) Repairing furniture.
  6. (In front of house) Drying appliances.
  7. Drying clothes, shoes, etc.
