Caged...

2 little nephews... 2 laundry baskets...
a lot of crying when realization strikes that you're caged like a little puppy with nowhere to go.

waking up...

to an unfamiliar wall
an unfamiliar ceiling
in a unfamiliar place
an unfamiliar feeling

unfamiliar streets
and unfamiliar places
unfamiliar people
with unfamiliar faces

all that I’ve ever wanted
long delayed in time
but the feeling is…

unfamiliar
