UPLISSA logbook 92-93

I found it! This is logbook number 4, I think. Rene turned-over logbook no. 1 to me, Dang took logbook no. 2 with her to Canada, logbook no. 3 was lost somewhere in Holy Spirit.

Things to look for:
1. Mag-usap tayo series
2. Carolling
3. Pizza man and the mascots and other comics
4. Wala pang txt at email masyado noon, check out announcements na parang txt-brig, coordination ng gimik et al.
5. Time ito ng nauso ang Tetris.
6. This was also the time Ma'am Pat C. passed away.
7. Dracula ang usong movie pa nuon.
8. Probably the dirtiest and stinkiest logbook ever. We had this bad habit of dabbing soy sauce and hot sauce from the restaurant where we ate on the gimik log page before all signing it.

At nakakapag-drowing pa ako nun sa dami ng ginagawa sa college. Mga inabot na batches: Arnold Zafra to Denise Simbol.

Logbook 1 is here, somewhere in my albums.
Logbook 2 is here, somewhere in Dang's albums in Facebook.

Warning: maraming mura at baladyaan dito. Sabagay, things don't change that much naman.

And yes, I grew a mullet after finishing CMT / ROTC.

Another blast from the past

Aug. 1993 version (from UPLISSA 3rd? logbook)

Sci.name: Igorum, polgasis scabbabis
Phy.desc.: 5'5" in height, dark-skinned, oily hair, contact lenses
Affiliations: UPLISSA, SWAB (samahan ng walang ambisyon sa buhay)

Frustrated poet, frustrated artist, frustrated musician, frustrated period. Hopeless romantic and transparent. Not exactly a devout christian but neither a pagan nor a satanist, he is a firm believer in a universal and all encompassing faith (not religion). Still trying to find his niche, trying to find his place in this world. Extremely handsome (sorry, just trying to find out if you were still awake). Don't worry, he'll always be there to make you smile or laugh (or else he'll die trying).

Thanks to Dang Bayhon, now based in Canada for posting this on friendster. Seems not much has changed. :D I think this was supposed to be my write-up for the yearbook. :D

I have since then referred to myself as deist.
I have since grown to 5'6", sometimes 5'6 1/2" daw, according to infirmary records.
"Frustrated poet, frustrated artist, frustrated musician" <- all done, no longer frustrated in those departments. :D

Other than those, everything seems the same.

UPLISSA Wayback Machine

Ladies and gents, I present to you another blast from the past. I recently came into possession of the VERY FIRST logbook of the UPLISSA! Hermetically and meticulously preserved by Rene Manlangit (of http://plaistrlc.blogspot.com), and with the earliest entry dated August 3, 1990, this piece of UPLISSA (and UPSLIS) history is now 18 years old. Back in the day, this logbook was the main means of communication and expression for the ILS (now the SLIS) students. There were no cellphones. Beepers hadn't made a widespread appearance yet. The Net in the Philippines was still in its infancy, no blogs, no social networks. And... This was the year when the male population of the college suddenly ballooned. This probably accounts for the fact that this was also the year when all hell broke loose. Note also the emergence of the first UPILS basketball team in the pages. So weird that we acted that way back then. So weird that the people who once wrote on these pages are now department heads, chief librarians, faculty members, executives and company VPs. Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war!
