July 22 - Breakfast at King's Hotel, Visit to Munich City Library, Discussion with Ms. Barbara Eder and Frau Koch, YA and Children's services, Ancient books at the Library of the University of Munich with Dr. Sven Kuttner, (yup, that is the 800AD Charlemagne's Bible), Beer and bicycles at the Winter Palace. My tour buddy was Mr. Jilven Amar of The National Library, our program guide was Ms. Elisabeth Maria Stolberg.

ReplyDeleteControlled listening nooks, choose your audio cd / audiobook, inform the counter, they'll tell you which station you could use. This way the user doesn't need to handle the items. :D

ReplyDeleteSorting bins at the Munich City Library, one per department. RFID self-return system from external window (outside of library), scan, beep, to conveyor belt, automatically drops 'em in the appropriate bin where librarians collect them at certain oints in the day for reshelving. :D
ReplyDeleteEr, he does resemble him. :D That's Dr. Sven Kuttner, historian turned librarian, specializing in ancient books. It's his system at the University of Munich which we visited. :D
