You Are a Messenger |
And to be honest, your also a bit of a gossip. You like to know what's going on with people. You can deliver almost any message to anyone, and they'll take it better coming from you. In modern times, you would make a good journalist or diplomat. |

LIS 160 peeps as well as those with cataloging subjects may find this useful, if not interesting.
It's a web-based cataloging client running on Google Gears which supports copy and original cataloging. You can search millions of freely licensed records and share your records with other libraries. MARC21 and MARCxml support too.
Bumped into this c/o @prexmol who's doing work for Kabaka Lib.

Another Day, Another Monkey
Pest control guys were spraying anti-termite stuff at the house so I went to SM Southmall for some R&R.
Got myself some candles for my potpourri oil burners at the boarding house as well as incense for my room here down south. Also had to replenish my DVD-Rs and CD-Rs supply. Hmmm. Seems the CDR King here at SM Southmall is doing a Mercury Drug with "get-your-number" queued service.
Seems okay, except for the fact that there's only one cashier for all the faster service attendants. Can you say bottleneck?
And... This may seem redundant... Guess who came home with me from Tom's World? Another day, another monkey. Different color though. Still have to get the pink colored one to complete my collection.

Assertive? O_o;;
You Are Assertive |
You're not a bully, a manipulator, or a nag. You just state what you need quickly and honestly. You've been assertive for so long that it just comes naturally to you. You're definitely not shy. People wonder why you get what you want in life. Well, it's because you ask for it! |

My Friendship Style
Your Friendship Style is Empathetic |
You tend to know everything about your friends' lives... and they know everything about yours. Your friends are your confidants. You are always there for your friends. You celebrate their successes and support them in their times of need. You are as loyal as they come. And you expect the same loyalty and understanding from your friends in return. You and another Empathetic Friend: Have a amazing friendship, when it works. You care for each other deeply, but you often end up with hurt feelings and drama. You and a Gregarious Friend: May have a bit of a one sided friendship. You adore your Social Friend, but you sometimes feel a bit neglected. You and an Independent Friend: Struggle a bit. You are very interested in your Independent Friend's life, but your friend often needs more space. You and a Philosophical Friend: Respect one another. You love to learn about your Philosophical Friend's brilliant ideas. |
What Keyboard Key Are You?
You Are "tab" |
Some people might try to say that you're always spaced out. You do tend to be a dreamer, but you're also a great multitasker. You work quickly and efficiently. So it's no problem if you goof off a little while you're working. And if people want to think you're flakey, that's fine. You're getting more done than they are. |

Caged...
2 little nephews... 2 laundry baskets...
a lot of crying when realization strikes that you're caged like a little puppy with nowhere to go.
My Mind is Mush
It all started months ago when I wanted to watch Battle Royale 1 and Battle Royale 2 again after watching Grindhouse: Death Proof and Planet Terror (Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez rock). I was craving for more gore and horror on the scale of Kill Bill I and 2, Ichi the Killer (Koroshiya 1) and Lik Wong (aka Riki-Oh or The Story of Ricky). Or for something memorable on the cinematic plus audio scale like Desperado, The Crow, 300 and Neon Genesis Evangelion (Shin Seiki Evangelion). (All sick, I know, but hey, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger... Just vomit more.)
So I went on a reserve-time-to-watch "things that catch my fancy" + get-rid-of-backlogs mode since June, but actually only got most of the chance last November and the Christmas break. Here's the list I've watched to this day. Note: a lot of it make Kill Bill seem for wimps. Other common themes would be that behind it all, it's all about power.
Machine Girl (Kataude Mashin Gâru)
I found this via Noel's review and watched it a bit earlier than the others. Revenge flick with girl-amputee getting battle modifications for severed limbs. Arterial spray galore whether it be chainsaws or blades.
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Shin Seiki Evangelion)
Hideaki Anno's psycho-theo-sociological commentary which messes with your brain and makes you review all your Psych 101 notes. All the characters are broken. (Fave as my fave media go, patay silang lahat. :D) I always watch this during low points in my life. I will not run away... I will not run away...
Eastern Promises
I blame Cate for this. Russian mafia, bootlegs, severed fingers and tattoos. And, as Cate points out, the very popular bathhouse scene. I'll never look at Aragorn the same way again.
The Devil's Rejects
Woohoo! Rob Zombie splatter-fest! Doesn't rate as high on my to-remember and life-changing meter like Desperado, The Crow, 300 and NGE, it's more on the level of From Dusk Till Dawn. You know, I'll remember the film, but when the audio cd soundtrack plays in my car stereo, it doesn't start a playback of the movie in my mind. Kumbaga mahina ang connex. But hey, if From Dusk Till Dawn and Dogma (which is also a stroke of genius) had Salma Hayek, The Devil's Rejects has Sheri Moon Zombie (Rob Zombie's better half). Woohoo! My only regret was watching this before watching part one, House of 1000 Corpses.
Drawn Together
Sick, very sick. Tracked down the uncensored eps and scenes not shown on JackTV. Think of all the cartoon characters you grew up with. Now transform them into stereotypes, bigots, racists, incestuous, suicidal, slasher, indecent, manic-depressive, anal-retentive and all tranked up on uppers, viagra, Prozac, roofies, etc. Then stick them in a realityTV-style scenario.
Suicide Club (Jisatsu Saakuru)
Too much blood, as in bumabaha. Imagine 54 girls jumping from a platform onto the path of an oncoming train. That bumabaha bloody. Had me scratching my head after in confusion. There really is no Suicide Club. O_o;;
Tokyo Gore Police (Tôkyô Zankoku Keisatsu)
Hot dang! The directors of Machine girl did a one-up. BDSM + Genetic biopunk! The chainsaws become parts of the engineers rather than mere attachments. If Suicide Club was a blood flood, this is a bloodbath.
Other things queued up for my viewing pleasure:

- Soukou no Strain (Strain: Strategic Armored Infantry) - supposedly it inserts elements from Frances Hodgson Burnett's works like A Little Princess, Little Lord Fauntleroy and The Secret Garden. We'll see.

Dream #1
Been a long time since I've dreamt. Been years since I've remembered a dream. Been years since I've interpreted someone else's dreams (like those of Ayn and Zsams). Been years since I've interpreted my own dream. I've had my own share of interpreting flying, falling, cars, mice, snakes, rats, hamsters, gerbils, taxis, planes, etc. etc. Usually they're just symbolisms of current situations, precognitive / premonatory / future happening, or just plain wishful thinking. Doesn't really make sense if you don't know the person that well, though.
So I just woke up from sleeping-in the whole morning and I had this weird dream. That probably makes this entry number one of my dream journal...
Cy was in our driveway in horrid hiphop attire, baggy pants, hoodie and baseball cap covering his face. He was acting all gangstah so I decided to take pics of him, too bad I only had my SE k770i. So he posed... Gangstah style... And I set the phonecam on burst-mode.
Four shots, each shot a different pose. But after the first pic, some people started to make jump-poses behind Cy. Though they were blurred, I could make out who they were.
pic 1: no one
pic 2: Jen
pic 3: Jen and Karen
pic 4: Jen, Karen and Charm
Disturbing since dreaming of someone jumping is supposedly bad, it means hardships and disappointments. Although it's comforting since it doesn't say if it's hardships and disappointments for the one dreaming OR for the ones jumping in the dream. (Good thing I didn't dream of me jumping, that's another story.) So either I'm definitely screwed or Jen, Karen and Charm are in for one helluva ride this 2009. Either that o nag-hiphop na talaga si Cy sa Laguna.
PS: Found out that me taking the photograph means I'm in for a long journey. Hmmm... Or this whole episode is just the creative side of my brain on hyper mode. O_o;;

Collage
I've been revisiting an old hobby for the past two days: paste-up collage art. I just get old magazines, cut up anything that catches my eye, then paste them onto anything. In college one of my teachers got one of my works, it was actually just a box fashioned into a bag. Been years since I did this so I started small this time around. Got an old planner and pasted words, pics and logos on it then sealed it in plastic. Maybe I'll go bigger and on canvas again next time.
pic 1: the plain old planner
pic 2: other raw matls, almost all recycled: the cut up pieces, the scissors, hobby knives, plastic, elmer's glue
pics 3 and 4: front and back done, all it needs is plastic covering
pics 5 and 6: covered and heated to shrink the plastic tight
